Education

I had the privilege of studying at Louisiana Tech University, one of the nation's top-ranking Engineering institutions. The program constantly challenged me to push my limits and strive for excellence.

After graduating in May of 2024 with my degree in Mechanical Engineering, I’m excited to apply the knowledge and skills I’ve gained to make a meaningful impact in the professional world.

Work Experience

Engineering Intern III

June 2022 - Current

Squire Creek Pool Site Manager
SELA Aquatics
May 2021 - September 2021

Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor

March 2020 - September 2021

My internship at Graphic Packaging International has given me hands-on experience in one of the most advanced converting facilities in the world. I’ve had the chance to work on some exciting projects and make a real impact:

  • Helped save $150,000 annually by designing 3D-printed replacement parts that we can now produce in-house.

  • Worked with process engineers to extend the lifespan of consumable parts by 650%, using SolidWorks FEA trials to develop 3D-printed upgrades.

  • Used a 3D printer to streamline a visual display project, which cut 15% from the project budget.

  • Improved our plant’s MEA report score from 26% to 97% by identifying BOM exceptions in SAP.

  • Set up a new Gluer belt storage system, reducing replacement time by 200%.

  • Developed detailed belt routing drawings in AutoCAD 2D, cutting down ineffective belt replacements by 50%.

  • Boosted planner efficiency by creating automated maintenance schedules for the plant.

Projects

I’m always looking for ways to blend creativity with engineering, and personal projects are a reflection of that passion. From designing custom 3D-printed parts to building a custom golf putter, each project has been a rewarding challenge that has helped me grow as an engineer.

I’m always working on small personal projects and for some of my bigger ones, I’ve written blog posts that dive deeper into the details. You can check them out on my Blogs page, which I’m currently in the process of updating—so keep an eye out for more write-ups soon!

NCEES FE Exam

This spring I registered and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam. It is the first of several steps to achieving my license as a Professional Engineer and earning my stamp. I am thankful for Louisiana Tech's program for fully preparing me for this test.

Software Knowledge

I have had the opportunity to learn and use many different applications throughout my time in school. Everything from running motion and FEA simulations in SOLIDWORKS, creating complex Mathcad files, and writing code in MATLAB has opened my eyes to how technology will shape my future career.

I love 3D designing and printing and I hope to do more of it in the future. In 2022 a SOLIDWORKS modeling class and was able to earn my CSWA certification.
